This service can be used by the general public to obtain statistical data from the Ministry that relates to tourism. If the request is for aggregate statistical data, the information will be made available. However, in accordance with the "Regulation on Collection of Data for the Collection of Tourism Statistics," information pertaining to individual establishments will not be provided.

This service can be used to register the area of the land (island, lagoon or plot of lands) allocated for tourism purposes. The rent of the tourist establishment is based on the land area.

This service can be used to apply for an exemption of customs import duty payable for goods imported for the purpose of developing tourist establishments. Import duties are levied as per Export-Import Act No. 31/79.

This service can be used to register a new resort with the Ministry. Resorts under this service are defined as those that are developed on plots of land or islands leased for tourism development. Application for this service can be completed and submitted within 10-15 minutes.

This service can be used to obtain permits for temporary structures required for mobilisation to begin the development of a resort. The permit is valid for a period of six months. Application for this service can be completed and submitted within 10-15 minutes.

This service is to obtain a new operating license and renew an operating license for tourist hotel. The application must be submitted at least four weeks before license expiry or commencement of operation.

This service can be used to obtain no objection letters for felling and removal of trees, temporary erosion mitigation measures, temporary mooring buoys or any other environment related activities.

This service can be used to obtain a new operating licence for registered tourist vessels. Applications should be submitted one month prior to the commencement of operations. Application for this service can be completed and submitted within 10-15 minutes.

This service can be used to register mortgages for tourist establishments.The mortgage should be registered within six months from the date of mortgage approval letter.

This service can be used for requesting an approval to mortgage tourist establishments. The Ministry’s approval is required before mortgaging.

This service can be used to obtain approval for work plans of new resort developments, redevelopment, or upgrading of existing resorts.

This service can be used to obtain an approval for fire system drawings.This is to ensure that the fire safety and suppression systems incorporated in the drawing contains adequate fire safety and fire prevention measures as per regulatory requirements.

This service can be used to request for a No-Objection Letter from the Ministry to acquire a special visa for foreign individuals to work as interns in the Maldives. The application should be submitted 30 days before the arrival of the intern in the Maldives.

This service can be used to apply for a registration certificate to hold symbolic weddings at a tourist facility. Symbolic weddings can be held in registered tourist facilities - tourist resort, hotel, guest house, homestay, tourist vessel, and yacht marina. Application for this service can be completed and submitted within 10-15 minutes.

This service can be used to obtain an approval for the installation of fixtures and and repairs on existing structures of operating tourist facilities. Maintenance work includes rethatching the roof, deck and roof repairs, painting, electrical repairs and other required maintenance works.

This service is to obtain approval to bring changes to the coastal environment of an island or a resort. Modification of jetties or over-water structures, harbour construction, beach nourishment, coastal protection measures, access channel dredging, dredging and reclamation can be applied.

This service can be used to request a cruising permit for foreign vessels. The application should be made five days prior to the arrival of the vessel to the Maldives.

This service can be used to obtain a new operating licence for tourist guest house operations. Application for this service can be completed and submitted within 10-15 minutes.

This service is for reporting incidents that may have occurred at tourist establishments. Such incidents must be informed to the ministry within 1 hour of incident, followed by this application which must be submitted to the Ministry within 24 hours of the incident.

This service allows you to register islands (reclaimed in lagoons and naturally formed) allocated for tourism purposes in the national registry of uninhabited islands.

This service allows the applicant to submit boundary demarcation, register and/or extend the boundary of islands leased for tourism purposes as per the regulation number: R-90/2023. The demarcation will go into effect once it is incorporated into the lease agreement for the island.

This service can be used by a foreign tourist vessel to obtain a Charter Licence. This licence will be issued to foreign vessels which have already obtained a cruising permit. Vessels engaged in commercial or private charters should obtain a charter licence to accommodate tourists in the Maldives.

This service can be used to obtain a tour guide pass to conduct tours for tourists. Tour guides should be registered with the Ministry prior to conducting tours for tourists. Application for this service can be completed and submitted within 10-15 minutes

This service can be used to obtain approval for conceptual drawings (master plan) of land (island/lagoon/plot of lands) designated for tourism purposes.
